Delinquency

Wow, another Web 2.0 class has rolled around. I am in touch with that feeling I had many years of being delinquent. I have not kept up with my assignments. I love the subject matter but things have really been hectic. On a happier note, to the left is a picture of my dog Murphy. He was the best dog I have ever owned and I miss him.

I appreciate all your help. You are very patient working with a doofus.
Thanks.

Happiness,

You left a comment at my blog but I do not know who you are. I can only hope you will see this.

Anyway, a friend of mine (most often Rick Findley; Whetstone class of '68) and I would go through the storm sewers with a flashlight. A good entry point was there at the bottom of Blenheim. A young explorer could go under High Street to a curb drain across the street. A kid could pere out of that drain literally at street level and clandestinely look out on traffic, and pedestrians on the west side of High street.

Usually we would then travel into the darkness, headed south farther up the sewer line. The pipe was about four feet high so it required walking while crouched over. There was the frequent echoing clank of cars running over manhole covers on the street along the sewer line. The farthest we are sure we traveled was down to Fallis Road, but due to water in a sewer well, we could not exit and had to travel back to Blenheim.

Another sewer we explored was a short distance east of High Street about a hundred yards or so, north of Overbrook. We traveled through that sewer to a manhole cover behind Beechwold Theater. We pushed off that manhole cover and climbed out and then slid the cover back in place.

My concern these days would not be claustrophobia, but of such things as angry raccoons and rats. Funny, I never gave them a thought when I was 12.
